A box truck burst into flames when it overturned on southbound Interstate 5 just before 9:30 this Saturday morning.
Witnesses reported seeing the truck swerve before it turned onto its side and caught fire near the Washington Street exit.
First responders shut down all the southbound lanes as they worked to put out the blaze, according to the California Highway Patrol. Paramedics responded to the scene but an injury report on those involved in the crash was not immediately available.
The accident sent smoke into the air that was visible from State Route 125. A cleanup crew was en route to pick up the contents of the overturned truck. The cleanup is expected to take hours, according to the CHP.
