A 34-year-old driver was flipping through radio stations on a La Mesa residential street Wednesday afternoon when he suddenly found himself upside down.

Residents in the 5800 block of Dugan Avenue — southeast of Lake Murray Boulevard — said they heard a sound and came out to the road to find a man crawling out of his flipped Infiniti sedan.

The driver said he was looking at his radio and didn’t know what happened, witnesses said.

His ride hit a parked car, pushing it a few feet down the road with a 25 mph speed limit, and landed on its roof, said the owner of the parked car.

The driver sat on the curb and answered officers’ questions, and was transported via ambulance to be examined. He had no visible injuries.

The driver wasn’t cited, police said, but officers were puzzled over how the car flipped.

Police did not have his name available.
