Two people were injured early Wednesday in a solo spinout crash on a rain-slick freeway ramp near Bay Park.
A silver Mercedes-Benz sedan spun out on the transition from northbound Interstate 5 to eastbound Interstate 8 shortly before 2:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash knocked over a palm tree and left the car’s bumper in the roadway.
Two people involved in the crash were taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.
The freeway transition road was closed for about an hour after the crash.
