A young man was killed Sunday night on a freeway ramp in National City.
Details are sketchy, but witnesses told the California Highway Patrol that the victim jumped out of a vehicle and was lying on the freeway.
The crash was reported just before 10 p.m. on the transition road from westbound Route 54 Freeway to southbound Interstate 5.
The ramp was shut down just after 10 p.m. for the investigation and was reopened at 11:40 p.m., according to the highway patrol.
