A suspect was behind bars Wednesday in connection with the fatal beating of a man in a Bay Terraces-area neighborhood in June, authorities reported.
San Diego police arrested 48-year-old Emanuel Dunn Jr. on Wednesday on suspicion of murdering 56-year-old Mark Donald Preville, San Diego police homicide Lt. Mike Hastings said.
Patrol personnel responding to a report of an injured person in the 6800 block of Panamint Road on June 6 found Preville bleeding and unconscious in a parking lot. He died at the scene despite lifesaving attempts on the part of the officers and paramedics.
Police have disclosed no suspected motive for the deadly assault, and Hastings declined to disclose what led detectives to identify Dunn as Preville’s alleged killer.
Dunn is scheduled to make his first court appearance in the case Friday afternoon.
