Three masked men, two of them armed, barged into a home near San Diego State University late Tuesday night and assaulted and robbed a 25-year-old resident.
The trio entered the home on Mary Lane Drive near 55th Street through an unlocked door shortly after 11:30 p.m. One man had a shotgun and another was armed with a pistol, San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
Although six people were inside, the suspects only targeted the one man, Delimitros said. They sped off in a dark SUV before police arrived.
All three were described as black men wearing Halloween masks and red or black hooded sweatshirts. Two were about 5 feet 10 and the third was about 6 feet 2. Delimitros said one of the suspects was possibly wearing a clown mask.
