Two young men who held up pedestrians in a crime wave that ended in a police pursuit and crash pleaded guilty Friday to robbery, auto theft and evading authorities.
Victor Ledesma, 19, and 18-year-old Jonah Ledesma — who are not related — will be sentenced Dec. 10.
Victor Ledesma — who has a robbery conviction from 2012 — is expected to be sentenced to 23 years in state prison. Jonah Ledesma is expected to receive 13 years behind bars. Prosecutors said the crimes occurred within hours of each other last January.
Two 15-year-olds were also arrested in connection with the crime spree and were prosecuted in Juvenile Court.
Authorities said the crime spree began shortly after 12:30 a.m. Jan. 23 at First and Pennsylvania avenues. San Diego police said four robbers pulled guns and knives on pedestrians in Hillcrest, University Heights, North Park and La Jolla.
Officers caught up with the quartet in Mission Beach about 2:15 a.m. and a pursuit ensued that ended in the Point Loma area when the suspects’ car ran over a spike strip and smashed into another car, police said.
