A graying, stubble-faced man who claimed to have a concealed weapon robbed a Core-Columbia credit union office Monday, authorities reported.

The thief, who appeared to be about 40, confronted a teller at the San Diego Municipal Credit Union branch in the 300 block of B Street in downtown San Diego shortly before 2 p.m., presented a demand note and stated that he was armed, according to police.

He fled with an undetermined amount of money.

The robber was described as an unshaven, roughly 5-foot-10-inch white man with “salt and pepper” hair, Officer Dan Lasher said.
