A 68-year-old woman was struck by a SUV as she attempted to cross a roadway in Serra Mesa on Monday evening.

The victim was in a crosswalk at the intersection of Hammond Drive and Sandrock Road when she was hit by the turning SUV around 6:45 p.m., according to San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros.

Delimitros said she suffered a broken pelvis, a broken ankle and internal injuries.

It was not immediately clear whether the 34-year-old woman behind the wheel of the SUV was cited in connection with the crash.
