A man in his 40s suffered stab wounds as he confronted his wife and a man she was meeting at a fast food restaurant in the Linda Vista neighborhood, police said Monday.

The man with whom the victim’s wife was meeting stabbed his rival once in his ribcage and once in the shoulder during the fight at the McDonald’s on Linda Vista Road near Ulric Street shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday, San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros said. The victim suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

Both men were both armed with knives, and the victim managed to slash the suspect’s tires at some point during the altercation, Delimitros said.

Delimitros said the suspect fled in a red SUV.

The suspect was described as Hispanic and 6 feet tall with a goatee. He was wearing a gray hat, a white shirt and jeans.
