A man was stabbed multiple times near the San Ysidro Port of Entry on Saturday.
The victim, 28, was approached by the assailant at around 2 a.m. in the parking lot of the Knights Inn at 230 Via De San Ysidro, San Diego police said.
The assailant tried to talk to the man, but the victim attempted to walk away. For an unknown reason, the assailant punched the victim several times and gave him three stab wounds.
According to police, the victim was able to escape. He was stabbed in his shoulder and back but his injuries were minor. Police described the suspect as a black man in his 30s who wore a red shirt and had dreadlocks.
