Authorities put out a public call Thursday for any minors who have been approached by a Solana Beach man suspected of trying to persuade juveniles to have sex with him.
Sheriff’s detectives arrested 40-year-old Sean Patrick O’Farrell on Wednesday for allegedly possessing child pornography. At the time, he already was facing potential criminal charges in the San Bernardino area for allegedly approaching a 15-year-old at the Rancho Cucamonga Library and offering him money in exchange for a sexual favor.
Authorities suspect that O’Farrell has committed similar crimes at libraries in San Diego County, including in his coastal hometown, authorities said.
He’s being held in the county jail in Vista on $250,000 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
Any youths who might have been contacted inappropriately by O’Farrell were asked to call the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200.
