An unknown amount of raw sewage spilled into Santa Clara Cove in Mission Bay on Sunday.
Around 1:30 p.m., the cove was shut down indefinitely, Capt. Joe Amador of San Diego Fire-Rescue said.
SDF-R contacted San Diego County of Environmental Health and it began its investigation.
According to NBC 7, they are collecting samples to discover how extensive the damages are, and the duration of the cove’s closure. The cause of the spill has yet to be determined.
