A man who burglarized businesses in San Diego, Oceanside, La Mesa and El Cajon over a several-month period was sentenced Wednesday to seven years in custody.

Thomas Owen Martin, 23, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to six counts of second-degree burglary and one count of auto theft.

Martin’s sentence will consist of three years in jail and four years of probation.

Another man, 32-year-old Carlos Arturo Olvera, pleaded guilty to similar criminal conduct in the same communities and was sentenced in June to six years in custody, according to Deputy District Attorney Matthew Carberry.

The burglaries occurred between mid-December of last year and February of this year, authorities said.
