A fire of unknown origin caused an estimated $50,000 worth of damage Monday to a City Heights home.

The non-injury blaze in the 3700 block of Euclid Avenue erupted about 12:30 p.m. It took San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews roughly 15 minutes to subdue the flames.

Firefighters found a woman who lived in the small single-story residence in a shed on the property, seemingly hiding, SDFRD Capt. Joe Amador said.

Medics evaluated her at the scene, then took her to a hospital for more thorough checkup.

Due to the unusual circumstances involving the resident, the Metro Arson Strike Team was called in to determine the cause of the fire, Amador said.
