A raid at a property in Lakewood resulted in the arrests of eight people, the seizure of drugs and the condemnation of a dwelling on the premises.

A search warrant was served about 5 a.m. Saturday at the property at 9210 Winter Gardens Boulevard, said San Diego County Sheriff‘s Sgt. Joel Stranger.

The raid netted 60.7 grams of methamphetamine, 11.4 grams of heroin, evidence of drug sales, drug paraphernalia, a stolen trailer and other stolen items, Stranger said.

“The county’s hazardous materials team ran several tests at the location and determined one of the living structures on the property was uninhabitable due to the chemical residue from illegal drugs being stored, used and/or manufactured in the location,” Stranger said.

The dwelling was condemned by county officials, according to the sergeant.

Initially, 17 adults and one juvenile were detained at the scene, but eight people were ultimately arrested on suspicion of various offenses including possession of a controlled substance for sales, outstanding misdemeanor warrants, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, auto theft and possession of stolen property, Stranger said.

Those arrested were booked into the Las Colinas Detention Facility and San Diego County jails, he said.

None of the suspects names were released as the investigation was ongoing and additional charges possible, Stranger said.
