A male pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 5 near Mission Bay Park early Saturday morning.
The victim had earlier been seen running in the freeway’s northbound lanes near Clairemont Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol online incident log.
The fatal accident was reported at 2:35 a.m. An identification of the victim was not immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol and local San Diego authorities.
