A man suspected of climbing a fence and running onto a runway at Lindbergh Field was taken into custody.

The suspect allegedly climbed a fence at the east end of Runway 27 around 5:55 p.m. Thursday, the airport’s Jonathan Heller said.

The suspect ran 300 yards on the runway before being apprehended by San Diego Harbor Police Department officers, Heller said.

Airport flight operations were halted for seven minutes during the incursion, Heller said.

It was not known what the suspect would be booked for.
