A man shot twice near an Escondido apartment complex was hospitalized in stable condition Monday.
The shooting near the Cypress Cove Apartments at 260 N. Midway Drive was reported around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to Escondido Police.
The victim was struck once in his abdomen and another bullet grazed his left ear.
The wounded victim was found near a play structure at the front entrance to the complex and was taken to a hospital to be treated. Police said he was in stable condition and did not require surgery.
A description of the shooter was not immediately available.
