A woman was shot and killed early Friday while walking with a companion in Chula Vista.
The victim, who was in her early to mid-20s, and a man were walking along Quintard Street near Third Avenue when the gunfire rang out just after midnight, according to a Chula Vista Police statement. The woman was shot several times, but the man was not injured, police said.
The gunman got away, police said.
Police have shut down Quintard Street between Third and Orange avenues while they investigate.
