Authorities in San Diego renewed their call Friday for information that could lead them to whoever gunned down a Barrio Logan man on his way to work seven years ago.

Robert Juarez, 28, was shot shortly after getting into his car to head to work on the morning of July 10, 2008. The gunman approached his car on Logan Avenue near 16th Street, had a brief conversation with the victim then opened fire, according to San Diego Police.

The suspect ran to a waiting cream-colored four-door Cadillac DTS, got in and was driven out of the area by a Hispanic man wearing a blue construction hard hat, according to police and Crime Stoppers. The gunman and getaway driver were last seen heading east on Logan Avenue.

Juarez died in a hospital a short time later.

Anyone with additional information on the shooting was asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477, or to contact the agency via email at sdcrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 was being offered for tips that lead to a felony arrest.
