The car driven by a murder suspect from a Fourth of July stabbing at a Logan Heights party was found Saturday, San Diego police said Sunday, but the “armed and dangerous” suspect remained at large.
Joseph Henry Garcia, 22, was described by San Diego police today as armed and dangerous. He remained the subject of a police hunt, wanted for the stabbing and killing of a man, 54.
The fatal slashing was at 6:57 p.m. Independence Day at a party in a backyard in the 3100 block of National Avenue, near Memorial Park and east of Barrio Logan. The victim’s name has not been released, but police said he was stabbed many times in his chest. The location where Garcia’s car was recovered was not disclosed.
Early investigations revealed that a fight broke out between the victim and a family member, SDPD Lt. Paul Rorrison said. Garcia immediately fled the area.
Paramedics treated the victim but he died at the scene, Rorrison said.
Garcia was described as a Latino, 5 feet-9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
