Sheriff’s officials sought the public’s help Wednesday to identify and locate a hit-and-run driver who crashed a SUV into a teenage boy outside a fast food restaurant in San Marcos, slightly injuring him.
A silver or light colored SUV was headed south through the parking lot of the McDonald’s on West San Marcos Boulevard near Knoll Road and struck the 15-year-old victim as he was running out of the eatery shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday, San Diego Sheriff’s Deputy John Balos said.
The teen fell onto the pavement and sustained minor injuries, for which he was treated at Palomar Medical Center, Balos said.
Balos said the SUV’s driver backed up and fled the scene and was last seen making a right turn onto Knoll Road.
Anyone with information on the hit-and-run crash was asked to call the sheriff’s department at (858) 565-5200, or to contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
