A car belonging to a man suspected of fatally shooting his estranged wife in a Scripps Ranch parking lot last weekend turned up abandoned Tuesday near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Jeremy Green, 40, remained at large following the discovery Tuesday afternoon of his silver 2007 Corvette convertible in the 700 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard, according to San Diego police.
He allegedly gunned down 37-year-old Tressa Green about 2 p.m. Saturday during an argument that broke out after the couple left a marriage-counseling session in the 9600 block of Business Park Avenue. She died at the scene from wounds to her abdomen, homicide Lt. Paul Rorrison said.
Hours later, a passer-by found a shotgun believed to have possibly been the murder weapon underneath a freeway ramp in Marian Bear Park, roughly eight miles from the site of the slaying.
Tressa Green filed for divorce in April. The couple had been married since 2005 and had two children together.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10-inch white man with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org.
Authorities have advised the public to consider Jeremy Green armed and extremely dangerous and to avoid approaching him.
