A 24-year-old man was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in San Diego’s Lincoln Park neighborhood on Monday night.
A red four-door vehicle, possibly a Honda or Nissan, briefly stopped near the intersection of 47th Street and Logan Avenue around 10:45 p.m. One of two men inside yelled something at the victim and another man as they were walking, then opened fire, said San Diego Police Lt. Manny Del Toro. The assailants sped off and headed east on Logan Avenue.
The victim was struck several times in the torso and collapsed in the middle of the roadway, Del Toro said. He died at the scene, despite efforts to revive him. His name was not immediately available.
Del Toro said the victim’s companion was not injured.
Anyone with additional information on the shooting was asked to call police at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
