Two masked men robbed a bar in the Bay Park neighborhood at gunpoint early Thursday.
The robbers entered Blackthorn Irish Pub & Grub on Clairemont Drive near Burgener Boulevard through its back entrance shortly after 2 a.m. One suspect pointed a rifle at the owner and an employee and ordered then to the ground while the other demanded to know where the money was kept, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
As the suspect headed to the back of the store, he encountered another employee who was also ordered to the ground, Heims said.
The robbers took money from the business and the employees’ phones and fled, Heims said.
