A 32-year-old El Cajon man wanted on suspicion of making terrorist threats and reckless driving was arrested following a pursuit from downtown San Diego to just north of the U.S.-Mexico border, National City Police reported Monday.

A National City Police Officer returning from the San Diego Central Jail attempted to stop a speeding motorcyclist on southbound Interstate 5 near Imperial Avenue around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, but the rider took off.

The officer eventually lost sight of the motorcyclist, but another officer spotted him near state Route 54 and attempted to get him to pull over, police said.

The motorcyclist continued south into the Nestor area, where he suddenly stopped at the intersection of Hollister Street and Tocayo Avenue and was arrested.

Police said the suspect was later found to have active warrants for reckless driving and allegedly making terrorist threats. His name was not immediately available.
