A 34-year-old man faces a murder charge in connection with the fatal beating of his mother Sunday at a home outside El Cajon.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in the 1900 block of Hidden Crest Drive at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, San Diego Sheriff‘s Lt. John Maryon said.
“When deputies arrived, they located the female, who was suffering from trauma to her upper body,” Maryon said. “CPR was initiated on the female who was then transported to the hospital for treatment. Despite the lifesaving efforts by hospital personnel the female died.”
Maryon said the suspect also beat his older brother, but that man was able to get away and call for help. No motive for the attacks was made public.
Deputies located the suspect in El Cajon and arrested him on suspicion of murder, Maryon said. His name was not immediately released.
