Police were on the lookout Tuesday for a man suspected of slashing a woman’s hand during a domestic violence fight at Ponto Beach in Carlsbad.
Someone called police around 10:10 p.m. Monday and said a man and woman were fighting on the beach off Carlsbad Boulevard and there was talk of a knife being involved, Carlsbad Police Lt. Jeff Chapman said. The man fled in a silver sedan before officers arrived.
The wounded woman did not provide officers with any usable suspect information before she was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla to be treated for a laceration to her hand, Chapman said.
Chapman said one or both people involved in the fight may have been under the influence of alcohol.
