A motorcyclist slammed into a vehicle that turned into his path at a Chula Vista intersection Thursday night and later died in a hospital.
Witnesses told Chula Vista Police the eastbound rider and the westbound motorist both entered the intersection of Fifth Avenue and E Street on a green light shortly after 8:30 p.m., but the westbound driver attempted to turn left without yielding to oncoming traffic.
Following the crash, the motorcyclist was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, but died shortly after, police said. His name was not immediately available.
The driver of the other vehicle was apparently unhurt.
Police said drugs and alcohol were not suspected factors in the crash.
