Authorities Tuesday identified two men killed over the weekend in separate crashes along Interstate 5 near camp Pendleton and in the Elfin Forest area near San Marcos.
San Diego resident Miguel Angel Gallegos, 39, was killed in a single- vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near the Aliso Creek rest area around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. He and another person were in a SUV that rolled in the southbound lanes. Gallegos was ejected and the SUV came to a stop on top of him, authorities said. He died at the scene.
Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, 52-year-old Clay Wallace White of San Marcos was killed in a motorcycle crash near the junction of Elfin Forest and Harmony Grove roads outside San Marcos, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
White lost control while riding with two other motorcyclists. His motorcycle skidded off the road and struck a boulder, authorities said. He was ejected and also died at the scene.
