Two people were hospitalized with stab wounds Sunday following an altercation in a 4S Ranch neighborhood
Sheriff’s deputies and San Diego police were called at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday to a home on the 10200 block of Winecreek Court after a report of a stabbing, according to Lt. Jim Bolwerk of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect stabbed the victim in the thigh and fled into the canyon behind the home, Bolwerk said. Deputies from 4S Ranch, Encinitas and Poway, along with San Diego police officers, searched the area with a police dog and found the suspect hiding in a bush in the canyon, according to Bolwerk.
The suspect was taken to Pomerado Hospital with minor injuries received when the police dog made contact with him, according to Bolwerk. The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his thigh and was transported to Palomar Medical Center, according to Bolwerk.
The suspect will be arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon upon his release from Pomerado, the lieutenant said.
