A possibly disoriented pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5 north of Oceanside early Saturday.

The accident occurred on the freeway’s northbound lanes adjacent to Camp Pendleton at around 1:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Initial reports from passersby indicated that a possibly disoriented person was walking in front of vehicles at the location, near the Aliso Creek rest area.
