San Diego firefighters extinguished a small brush fire that broke out early Wednesday in a canyon in the Navajo neighborhood.

The non-injury fire broke out in heavy brush off Princess View Drive near Fontaine Street shortly after 3:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

No structures were damaged, spokesman Lee Swanson said.

The fire’s cause was not immediately determined.
