A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a clothing store at the Westfield Plaza Camino Real mall late Friday afternoon.
Someone telephoned the northern Carlsbad shopping center shortly before 4:30 p.m. and claimed that explosive devices had been planted there, according to police.
A short time later, an American Eagle Outfitters store in the mall received a similar menacing call, Lt. Greg Koran said. That business was evacuated while officers searched the store and surrounding areas with a service dog.
Nothing hazardous had been found as of 6 p.m., the lieutenant said.
