An investigation is under way Wednesday in Vista, where a woman crossing North Santa Fe Avenue was fatally struck by a car.
The fatal accident occurred near the intersection of North Santa Fe and East California avenues around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego County Sheriff‘s Sgt. Debbie Eglin.
When deputies arrived on scene, they began CPR. Medics arrived shortly thereafter and took over, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver who hit her remained at the scene to be questioned by law enforcement, Eglin said.
