Three Mexicans were arrested near the Imperial Beach pier early Wednesday after illegally entering the United States on a jet ski.
At 12:46 a.m., U.S. Border Patrol agents spotted two jet skis crossing from Mexican waters into the United States.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection “SAFE” boat that was patrolling near the area was dispatched, while a Border Patrol all-terrain vehicle unit waited on shore.
As the SAFE boat approached the two jet-skis more than a mile offshore, they attempted to flee back towards Mexico. One jet ski driver lost control, and the three men on board were thrown into the water. Agents on the SAFE boat pulled them out.
The jet ski was seized and the men were transported to a Border Patrol station for processing.
