San Diego police were on the lookout Friday for the man who attempted to rob a gas station in City Heights at gunpoint.
The suspect demanded money and food from an employee at Pearson Fuel on El Cajon Boulevard, just east of state Route 15, shortly before 3:30 p.m. Thursday and lifted up his shirt to show a gun in his waistband, San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.
However, he left the business empty-handed as the employee walked away to call police, Cali said. He was last seen moving south on Central Avenue.
Police described the suspect as Asian, about 25 years old and between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 11. He was wearing a gray shirt and black pants.
