A pickup truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle freeway crash in Carlsbad early Monday.
The fatality on northbound Interstate 5 north of Poinsettia Lane was reported at 3:10 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The pickup struck a light pole, the CHP reported.
The driver of the pickup was an 18-year-old man, according to NBC 7/39.
