A man killed when a motorcycle hit him on a South Bay road was identified Wednesday.
Scott Winterbottom, 49, walked into the path of the westbound two-wheeler in the 1300 block of Palm Avenue in Egger Highlands shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday, according to San Diego police and the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
The resulting impact left Winterbottom with severe injuries, including a severed left leg. Medics took him to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The 31-year-old motorcyclist was admitted to the same trauma center. His name and condition were unavailable.
