A man accused of battering his wife in Escondido and prompting a two-hour SWAT standoff must stand trial on a felony domestic violence charge, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Michael Scott Angerilli, 53, was ordered held on $35,000 bail.
Escondido police were summoned to Willow Tree Lane, near East Valley Parkway, about 7:45 p.m. Nov. 9. Police found Angerilli’s wife lying on the couple’s driveway, unable to move.
Paramedics took her to a local hospital, where she was treated for moderate injuries, according to police.
The defendant fled to some heavy brush behind his home, where he stayed until being coaxed out by police negotiators around 9:45 p.m.
Angerilli will be back in court Jan. 27 for a readiness conference. Trial was set for March 4.
