An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 rocked the mountains east of Palomar Mountain Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was at 3:29 p.m. and was epicentered 14 miles east-southeast of Anza, or 14 miles south-southwest of La Quinta. That would be near the Riverside-San Diego county line in the foothills of the Santa Rosa mountains, south of Route 74.

No damage was immediately reported.
