An injured motorist was temporarily trapped inside a vehicle that crashed into a Spring Valley home Friday afternoon.

The vehicle crashed into the house at 9949 Estrella Drive around 2:15 p.m. for unknown reasons, according to Cal Fire. It took firefighters about 25 minutes to free the driver from the wreckage.

The driver and passenger were taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries, Cal Fire reported. Their names were not released.

County building inspectors were summoned to inspect the home because it sustained “quite a bit of damage,” Cal Fire Capt. Kendal Bortisser said.
