An investigation was under way Friday into what sparked a fire that caused an estimated $125,000 in damage to an El Cajon home.
The non-injury fire at 1753 Woodburn St. was reported at 6:21 p.m. Thursday, according to El Cajon city spokeswoman Monica Zech.
Heartland Fire & Rescue crews had the blaze knocked down within 10 minutes of arriving on scene, she said in a statement. The Santee Fire Department provided assistance.
No one was home at the time of the fire, according to Zech. Neighbors heard the sound of the smoke alarm coming from inside the home and called 9-1-1.
