Two people were stabbed Wednesday night when two groups of likely gang members in two rooms of a San Ysidro motel got into arguments.

The incident occurred at 11 p.m at the Economy Inn, 230 Via De San Ysidro, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

“The victims were 19 years old and 25 years old,” Heims said. “The victims were transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.”

One possible suspect was detained after hiding in some bushes, he said. “The victims were uncooperative and it appears gang-related.” The gang unit was investigating.
