Holiday revelers, beware.
California Highway Patrol officers in El Cajon will be looking for drunken drivers this weekend.
The operation, also targeting drivers without a valid license, will be held Saturday night in an unspecified unincorporated area.
“All too often, members of our community are senselessly injured or killed on our local roadways by intoxicated or unlicensed drivers,” CHP Capt. Tim Lepper said, adding “traffic volume permitting, all vehicles will be checked for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or driving unlicensed.”
Chula Vista and National City police will join forces with county probation officers for a checkpoint and/or a saturation patrol next week, according to Chula Vista police.
Officers will be on the lookout for motorists exhibiting signs of impairment, and will be checking for license violations, police said.
