Surveillance photos were made public Wednesday in an effort to identify a masked man who used a bomb threat to rob an Oceanside bank branch.

The robber approached a teller at the US Bank at 4136 Oceanside Blvd. around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, threatened to detonate the explosive device and demanded money, FBI spokeswoman Emily Yeh said.

He fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen riding a metal gray, low-to-the-ground BMX-style bicycle southbound toward a rail station, Yeh said.

No injuries were reported in the holdup.

The suspect was described as 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, with a slender build. He used a black ski mask to cover his face, and was wearing gloves, a baseball cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and dark pants.

Yeh said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and asked anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts to call the FBI at (858) 320-1800 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
