Escondido police detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspects involved in a Sunday night shooting.

Police went at 9:50 p.m. Sunday to a shooting scene in the 1900 block of East Grand Avenue. The suspect and victim had already left when police got there, even though they did so in minutes, said Lt. Eric Skaja of the Escondido Police Department.

Police were notified shortly later that family members had brought the shooting victim to Palomar Medical Center. The man had been shot twice but his wounds were not life threatening.

Police later learned the victim and suspect had had previous contacts and the victim was shot after a fight, Skaja said.

Two other males accompanied the shooter, who physically assaulted the victim after he was shot, then fled the scene.

Police then located a vehicle possibly driven by the suspects at a mobile home park in the 1500 block of West Valley Parkway. The residence was searched but the suspects were not found.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call Escondido police Detective Patrick Hall at (760) 839-4722.
