The man killed as he tried to push his disabled car off Interstate 8 in El Cajon Thursday night was publicly identified Sunday by the Medical Examiner as Ramon Castillo Oegueda, 69, of San Diego.
Castillo Ocegueda was driving west on Interstate 8 about 9:20 p.m. when he was in a crash approaching the El Cajon Boulevard on-ramp, the Medical Examiner said. He and another driver tried to move their vehicles to the shoulder.
The Medical Examiner said Castillo Ocegueda stopped and got out of his vehicle. He was then hit by a third vehicle, which also hit his parked vehicle.
Paramedics pronounced Castillo Ocegueda dead of multiple blunt-force injuries. Three other people were hospitalized following the crash.
