A series of crashes in Oceanside Sunday left a woman dead and two men in critical condition.
Around 9 a.m., a vehicle collided with another on state Route 78, then continued onto Vista Way. It then struck a parked car and crashed through a fence near Moreno Street, just west of Interstate 5, according to the California Highway Patrol and Oceanside police.
The vehicle came to a rest in a yard on nearby Stewart Street, officers said.
Its driver, a man whom police said was at fault, was hospitalized, as was the woman driving the second vehicle and her male passenger, Oceanside police Sgt. Tom Wayer said.
All three were in initially reported to be in critical condition, but the woman later died, according to Wayer.
